Charlotte Westies Presents Wednesday Nights at The Bearded Buffalo in Belmont

Wednesday nights at The Bearded Buffalo is ABOUT HAVING FUN! It’s a great opportunity for dancers of all levels to learn from, and dance with, some of the most accomplished West Coast Swing dance professionals worldwide, including West Coast Swing Champions Patty Vo, Jason & Annmarie Marker, and Michael Kiehm. Couples and singles are welcome, and no prior dance experience is necessary.

Each week features an in-depth Fundamentals group lesson (that even seasoned dancers can learn from). This is followed by two lessons in adjacent rooms: Fundamentals+ for newer dancers and Intermediate for more experienced dancers. In most cases, the Fundamentals+ class is taught by a WCS All-Star level dancer. The social dance after the lessons is for all levels. For experienced dancers it’s an opportunity to dance with top-level pros and other local WCS dancers. For beginners, seasoned dancers can help you catch on quicker.

West Coast Swing Dancers

“For me, the dance is fun, especially after sitting at a desk all day. West Coast Swing is an actively developing social dance for current music while most other dances are history lessons.”

“It makes me feel younger than I am.”
