Weekly Tuesday Nights at Levine Senior Center

Charlotte Westies’ Tuesday nights at the Levine Senior Center are all about HAVING FUN! It’s a great opportunity for dancers at all levels to learn from, and dance with, some of the top dance professionals in the world, including West Coast Swing Champions Patty Vo, Jason & Annmarie Marker, Michael Kiehm, Michael Kielbasa, Nicole Zwerlein, and WCS All-Stars Elise Herman, Whitney Bartlett, Chris Wrigley, and others.

NO PRIOR DANCE EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. SINGLES AND COUPLES ARE WELCOME!!

Each week features three classes that run at the same time, followed by a social dance.

TIMES / CONTENT:

7:45–8:45 Beginner Lesson
This class is designed for those with little or no prior experience. It teaches the basic rhythm and three basic patterns. Repeating is encouraged until you are proficient with the material.

7:45–8:45 Essentials Lesson
According to the experts, advanced dancers are born in the Essentials class! This 15-week rotating course curriculum is the ideal choice for MOST dancers. It covers all of the fundamental patterns and techniques needed for a solid foundation you can build on. It is deliberately designed so you can start at any point in the course rotation, and repeating is highly encouraged.

7:45–8:45 Variations Lesson
These lessons are for experienced West Coast Swing dancers only. To participate in the Variations class you must be proficient in patterns and techniques taught in the Essentials classes.

8:45–10:45 Social Dancing
The social dance is appropriate for all levels of dancers, and a great way to practice what you learned in class.

COST: $15 for the entire evening – includes lessons and dance.

DATES: Every Tuesday night with an occasional exception for holidays or special events.

ABOUT THE VENUE: Levine Senior Center in Matthews is a long-time favorite with dancers throughout Charlotte. It is a very spacious facility with an extra large (3,100 sq. ft.) hardwood dance floor, plenty of free parking, and lots of restaurants nearby. It’s hard to imagine a better home for Charlotte Westies’ Tuesday night dances in south Charlotte.
